A reading corner need not be a whole room or a carefully planned project. A comfortable chair, a little light, and a book within reach can be enough to make an ordinary pause feel inviting.
Begin with a seat you already have. Bring it near a window if the daylight is gentle, or place a lamp nearby for evenings. The aim is simply to see the page comfortably without making the space feel harsh.
Give the book a small resting place, such as a side table or a sturdy surface close at hand. If you enjoy having a cup while you read, leave room for it too, with a coaster or tray to keep the spot practical.
A soft throw or a cushion can add comfort if you have one, but the corner does not need new furnishings to feel cared for. Clear away what distracts you and keep the things you actually use close by.
Then choose a few unhurried pages. A welcoming place to read is less about its decoration than the small invitation it offers: sit down, settle in, and stay for a while.
